LAHORE: Records tumbled during the first One-Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and Zimbabwe as the hosts won by 41 runs in a high-scoring thriller here at the Gaddafi Stadium.

It turned out to be the highest run-aggregate in ODIs involving Pakistan as a total of 709 amassed between the two sides.

Chasing a daunting target of 375, which was Pakistan’s highest score at home and their second-ever highest total, Zimbabwe made a gallant effort riding on skipper Elton Chigumbura’s maiden ton as they finished with 334 for five in their 50 overs. It was Zimbabwe’s highest total against any test playing nation in limited overs cricket as well.
